Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Bixfosh is a Sudoku game made by Ruykin. This policy explains what the app does with information about you. The short version: there are no Bixfosh accounts and no ads. We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the game, and your game record stays on your phone unless you choose to sign in with Google Play Games.
What stays on your phone
Your settings (sound, haptics, dark mode, timer, mistake limit, highlights) and your game history (wins, best times, streaks, daily challenges and achievements) are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, deletes them.
Solo games and the daily challenge are generated on your device and work offline.
What multiplayer sends
When you create or join a race room, the app connects to our game server (hosted on Cloudflare) and sends:
- a random ID the app creates when it's first installed, so the server can keep your seat if your connection drops. It isn't linked to your name, account, phone number or any other identifier;
- the room code, and your Play Games gamer name if you're signed in (otherwise the generic name "Player");
- your progress during the race: how many cells you've filled, your mistakes, and when you finish.
This is used only to run the race between you and the other player, who sees your name and progress on their screen. Room data is deleted automatically within two hours of the room being created. We don't sell it, share it with anyone else, or use it for advertising or profiling.
As with any internet service, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address to deliver the connection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Google Play Games (Android, optional)
On Android you can sign in with Google Play Games. It's optional, and the game works fully without it. If you sign in:
- Play Games gives the app your gamer name, avatar and Play Games player ID. The app shows the name and avatar on your profile, and uses the name in races as described above.
- Your achievements and your best times and rating on the leaderboards are recorded by Google Play Games, where other Play Games players can see them according to your Play Games settings.
- A copy of your game record (wins, best times, streaks and daily challenges) is saved to your Google account through Play Games, so it can be restored on another phone.
Google Play Games is run by Google under Google's privacy policy. You can sign out or delete your Play Games data at any time from the Google Play Games settings on your phone.
Usage statistics
The Android app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how Bixfosh is played, so we can improve it. It records things like which screens are opened, when a game starts and ends, its difficulty, whether it was won, how long it took and how many mistakes were made, when an achievement is earned, and when a race room is created or joined. Firebase also collects basic device information (model, operating system version, country, app version) and a random app-instance ID.
It does not record your name, your Play Games gamer name, your race opponents, or your advertising ID; collection of the advertising ID is switched off. These statistics are used only by us, to improve the game, never for advertising. Google keeps them under Google's privacy policy, and they are deleted after the retention period set in our Analytics settings (14 months at most).
Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report to Sentry, the service we use to find and fix bugs. A report contains the error and where in the app's code it happened, the app version, your device model and operating system version. The app also tells Sentry whether each session ended in a crash, so we can see how stable each version is. None of this contains your name, contact details, location or your games, and it isn't linked to the multiplayer ID. Reports are used only to fix problems, and Sentry deletes them after its retention period (90 days at most). See Sentry's privacy policy.
Children
Bixfosh is suitable for all ages. Race rooms show only a gamer name (or "Player") and progress, and players can't send each other messages.
Security
Everything the app sends, to the game server or to Sentry, is encrypted in transit (HTTPS and secure WebSockets).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
